The term "signal" includes audio, video, speech, image, communication, geophysical, sonar, radar, medical, musical, and other signals. The focus of the workshop will be the theories and applications of machine learning to processing of such signals. Machine learning includes a wide variety of approaches including symbolic and statistical machine learning and neural networks and kernel methods.
The workshop will be held together with the International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing, which is organised by The University of Melbourne, sponsored by CENDSS, Melbourne and the CRC for Sensor Signal and Information Processing CSSIP, Melbourne and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. The workshop will feature technical presentations and an invited talk held over one day. Papers are solicited for, but not limited to, the following areas:
Workshop structure and attendance The workshop is aimed to be a high communicative meeting place for researchers working on similar topics, but from different communities. In order to achieve these goals, the workshop will consist of one or two invited talks, followed by short presentations and longer discussions. Workshop attendance will be limited to registered participants. The selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Submission Procedure Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers, up to six pages in length, using electronic submission via the conference web site online paper submission system.
