ISSNIP 2004 Workshop on
Sensors for Control

Call for Papers

This workshop aims to bring together researchers whose areas of research encompass sensors, signal processing, and control. In spite of the enourmous advances made in MEMS sensor technology and other cheap sensors, the area of control has not significantly benefited from it. This workshop will include papers on advanced sensors and on control algorithms which specifically use these sensors to increase system performance.

The workshop will be held together with the International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing, which is organised by The University of Melbourne, sponsored by CENDSS, Melbourne and the CRC for Sensor Signal and Information Processing CSSIP, Melbourne and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. The workshop will feature technical presentations and an invited talk held over one day. Papers are solicited for, but not limited to, the following areas:

bullet

Sensor Technology for: UAVs, process control, power industry, distributed parameter systems such as acoustical noise reduction and flexible structures, motion control, GPS, force control, video and audio capture, nontactile sensors.

bullet

Control Algorithms which make novel use of sensor technology to enhance system performance.

Workshop structure and attendance

The workshop is aimed to be a high communicative meeting place for researchers working on similar topics, but from different communities. In order to achieve these goals, the workshop will consist of one or two invited talks, followed by short presentations and longer discussions. Workshop attendance will be limited to registered participants. The selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Submission Procedure

Prospective authors are invited to submit full papers, up to six pages in length, using electronic submission via the conference web site online paper submission system. Papers will be fully refereed and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Visit Author Guidelines Page for author instructions. For more information contact Dr. Hemanshu R. Pota.
