Symposium on Environmental Sensor Networks
Introduction
Collecting information about the environment is crucial
to the effective implementation of management and research
strategies. Information is required rapidly and at a
spatial resolution suitable to address the local issues.
Advances in sensor technology have enabled the real-time
high-frequency measurements of fundamental environmental
parameters in 3 dimensions. However implementing and
designing technology to suit a range of environments has
been challenging and instructive. This session will focus
on the application of sensor networks deployed in the
environment.
The ISSNIP 2007 Conference, organized by the
ARC Research
Network on Sensor Networks, provides an opportunity
for academics, practitioners and consultants from
different backgrounds to dialogue on important issues
relating to Intelligent sensors, Sensor networks and
information processing. In response to the exciting
challenges of monitoring the environment with emerging
technologies, a symposium on the application of sensor
networks in the environment will be part of the
conference. We invite contributions on the theoretical
and practical application of sensor networks in the
environment.
